| Trip / Short term accommodation If you are a visiting Brussels just for a couple of days it is easy to get a room because there are plenty hotels and hostels in Brussels. However, these accommodations are mostly of high standard and expensive. If your budget is reduced you should better book a bed in a youth hostel or in an aparthotel. Of course you better book in advance because of the times of international conferences a lot of rooms are needed. You can look on our hotels page or the hostels page to look and book a room for a few nights.
Student’s accommodation If you want to stay longer to work or study, there’s a growing availability of student rooms, called ‘kot’ in the centre of Brussels: In this centre you’ll find Quartier Latin, a student’s area with good, payable student’s houses. It’s not very easy to find a room but if you are satisfied with less, you will find something here. Most student rooms are shared by more students, everyone has its own sleeping room, but you have to share the kitchen and bathroom most of the times. Look at Quartier Latin Brussels to find a room what’s called ‘Kot’ in Belgium.
In Brussels it’s possible to rent an apartment with other student friends, its more cosy than student houses, because you’re with less people. You have your own kitchen and bathroom together with your friends. You can find an Independent landlord by a classified hanging at the window, or you can go to an agency. Other sources are the newspapers like ‘Vlan’, ‘De Streekkrant,’ and advertisements in kiosks, supermarkets and even in your university. However the best way to find a room is to integrate into the students live of Brussels.

Hotels in Brussels are easy to find. They range from prestigious 5 stars like Hotel Amigo to more cheap charming hotels. The best way to be sure to have a hotel room is to use the online booking service. Know that most of Brussels’ short term visitors are on business especially in the European quarter, so rates drop considerably at weekends (particularly in summer). You can look underneath* for information about hotels. |

Youth hostels in Brussels range from 13 to 20 euro a night depending how many people you're sharing the room with. There´s a usually the opportunity of choosing between a bed in a single room or in a dormitory with several people. In case of late arrival or in case you still need to rent accommodation upon arrival, we would like to suggest a few youth hostels and low budget rooms: Sleep well is a cheap but modern youth hostel, some have tried to find cheaper places and are now sleeping under the stars. Also the 'Centre van Gogh' is a good alternative. Especially when you come from outside Belgium and can’t visit your apartment before, you should make good appointments and make use of a contract If you want to optimize your travel to Brussels, it’s not a bad idea to contact an agency or even a placement agency, they can even give you advantages like discounts for musea, etc. The second one even does all the footwork for you if you are to busy.
